What is the difference between your B&B and a hotel on the Heuvelrug?

Our Bed & Breakfast offers complete independence: your own studio with kitchen, bathroom, and 24/7 access. You don't have to join a communal breakfast, but can organize your own time. You will receive personal attention from host Michiel whenever you want. It is small-scale and quiet.

Do you serve breakfast?

We facilitate a self-service concept. You have a fully equipped kitchen (or kitchenette) at your disposal. Fresh coffee beans are provided. The supermarket and bakery are within walking distance. This allows you to decide for yourself what and when you eat, in complete privacy.

Are there any nice restaurants or cafés near your bed and breakfast?

Restaurant La Provence serves exclusive French cuisine in a monumental setting just 300 meters from our guesthouse. For a cozy lunch or breakfast, we recommend De Huiskamer in the center of Driebergen, known for their local specialties. Restaurant Groenland, within walking distance on Hoofdstraat, is also highly recommended for a relaxed dinner after a day of exploring Utrecht.

What time is check-in/check-out at your B&B?

Check-in is flexible from 4:00 PM, but with Early Check-in you can arrive as early as 1:00 PM. Check-out is before 11:00 AM. Thanks to your personal door code, you can come and go 24/7 without having to rely on the host.

Is it easy to get to Utrecht by public transport from your location?

Yes, Driebergen-Zeist station is only a 10-minute bike ride from our location. From there, there is a direct train to Utrecht Central Station every 15 minutes, which is ideal for a day of shopping or culture. Bus 50 also stops practically on our doorstep (200 meters away) and takes you directly to the center of Utrecht in 35 minutes.

Is there parking available at your B&B?

We offer free parking directly at our B&B, which contrasts with the often expensive parking costs in Utrecht city center. Our location on Engweg in Driebergen is perfect for guests who come by car but still want to stay close to Utrecht. You can park your car safely with us and easily reach the city by public transport.

What makes staying overnight near Utrecht in Driebergen so special?

Driebergen combines the tranquility of the Utrechtse Heuvelrug National Park with the proximity of the bustling city of Utrecht. During autumn it is beautiful here with all the colors in the forests around the Traaij, while in the evening you can enjoy the peace and quiet you won't find in busy Utrecht. Moreover, you will temporarily live among the characteristic villas and estates that make Driebergen so charming.

Which castles can we visit during our stay at your location?

Slot Zuylen is within biking distance of our lodge and offers guided tours of the magnificent 13th-century castle. Slot Zeist, with its famous baroque gardens, can be reached in 15 minutes by bike via the Hollandse Waterlinie with its ribbon of forts. For a day trip, you can also visit the imposing Kasteel de Haar, known as the largest castle in the Netherlands.

Can we learn more about local beekeeping at your apiary?

Our apiary, located right next to the B&B, offers a unique opportunity to learn about local beekeeping. We organize workshops where you can learn all the basic skills of beekeeping. During the bees' flying season (April-September), you can even taste fresh honey made by our bees straight from the combs. We are happy to take you along on our work with the bees.

What hiking trails do you recommend from your guesthouse?

A clog path runs alongside our guesthouse through old agricultural land, beautifully landscaped parks, and historic estates. The towpath of the Kromme Rijn. Enjoy the Stichtste Lustwarande, a ribbon of estates and country houses. See the characteristic villas and the castle route near Driebergen. The Aderwinkelpad runs practically in front of the door and is ideal for clearing your head after a busy day at the B&B.
